Le Grand Cafe Day Out

Our task today was to explore some of Glasgow's  cafe's. We were to try and avoid the chain branches such as costa or starbucks etc.  After being split into groups (my group-sam, emma and johnny) we left the academy at about half nine and headed down to Gordon street where we found "Miss Cranston's Tearooms".
We went up the stairs and waited to be seated be one of the waitresses.  The tearoom had a clean and fresh look to it with slightly modern twist to the decor.  The tables were beautifully set to a high standard.  There was white china tea sets laid out, white table cloths that dressed the table, silver cutlery and rose filled vases.
We ordered some tea and cakes and found it to be some what over expensive and in the end unsatisfying. The overall feel to the place was quiet and relaxing however we left feeling slightly disappointed in the dry fudge cake and the £14.55 bill we received  by the end of it all.
After leaving "Miss Cranston's" we headed back up the road to the savoy centre  were we went to"Chequer's cafe".  The atmosphere in this cafe was much more relaxed than in the first.  This cafe was also self service where as the other one wasen't,  however it was much quicker and more efficient. The food was just as nice and our bill was half the price (£7.40).
Both cafe's were nice and with a pleasant atmosphere, they both had similarities and good and bad points about them but our tea journey turned out to be a very enjoyable experience.
                 The end.
